2200 sqft home. We keep our thermostats at 72. Gas bill $760. Dec - Jan. You can fuck yourself pg&e. It wasn't even that cold. Like 40s-50s.
Grrrr @ modern conveniences amirite
72 is higher than recommended also is it 72 24*7? How does your usage compare with similar homes?
Finally see someone has higher pse bill than me… I got 400-500 in winter 😭
Thanks for sharing. Apt mate & I use space heaters for less than half the area (as yours) and the bill is > half yours. Astronomical. Thought we were the only ones.
Fucking crazy. And it keeps going up.
Thought we had a problem with our wiring or so, because when I ask my friends, they don't face such steep charges. Maybe it's got to do with the insulation (or lack thereof). :(
$800 for 4000sqf …
1300sqft 1960s shack 73f $400
Wtf. So mine is similar to others.
Check the seals of doors and windows. Make sure all exterior walls are insulated. Reinsulate your attic. Shouldn't be super expensive. Then maybe consider upgrading your windows to double pane if you're still seeing issues.
What is pge
PGE is Portland general electric, utility in Portland, OR. I think OP means PG&E which is pacific gas & electric
Ya I meant pg&e. I have no idea about Portland gas and electric.
