Trying to understand the compensation levels at HPE since they have their own internal levels. The company has internal levels, specifically intermediate, specialist, expert, master, and more? What does specialist map to? Senior or staff? I got upleveled to specialist during my interviews and my previous job title was a senior software engineer. I want to understand if my compensation for my level is good. Also do most people on the team get their bonuses paid out? YOE: ~7 TC: 0 edit: Sorry I mean this is the offer I received from hpe: 200k base + 30k sign on first year (and 20k second year) + $5k RSU/year #hpe #aruba #hp
200K base is more in the avg master level or high expert level if you negotiate Btw specialist is senior - SDE 2 level.
I updated the post to reflect what I got offered from hpe
Fabulous offer from HPE. That is more than most Master level employees make. Bonus payout are all dependent on results which is always a risk ever year. Extremely stressful company to work for. I am not in Aruba BU, but in my BU, IC are expected to deliver without staff, budget or support. Great people, but I would say burnout level is very high.
Hi, what’s the fair pay for senior hpc consultant role at HPE?
Fair pay? Long term employees (Masters), are probably making $180 base (20+ years of experience). No stock, tiny bonus $5k. This is in HPC. Obviously they are offering new prospects such as yourself far more than existing employees. Eye opening frankly.
This is what I hated about HPE.
$200k base as a specialist is theoretically possible, but you’ll never get a raise again.
Is this in bayarea? Which location?
