I’m realtor in the Bay Area, and find many buyers and realtors just rely on Redfin to determine school districts, which is risky. Most likely, it’s accurate. But there are some wrong cases. Take this house for example, https://www.redfin.com/CA/Santa-Clara/656-Giannini-Dr-95051/home/838426. Redfin shows the high school is Cupertino High, which is a very good one in the bay area. The buyer paid a premium price for it. However, the actual school is Wilcox High. Cupertino High is much much better than Wilcox High. #housing #redfin
What's up with the realtors on Blind spreading FUD? It's almost as if their profession is facing its impending demise...
Listing says Wilcox. I am sure folks putting in 2.5m would do due diligence.
They are all the same!
OP, why do you say that Cupertino High is much better than Wilcox? Genuinely curious.
From rankings, and most buyers believe the rankings
Great schools is trash as well.
I think a lot of people move to the US from places where the schools have a really clear hierarchy based on student exam results (e.g., the people who get the top test scores all go to a specific IIT or Tsinghua), and then they try to apply the same logic to American public schools based on Great Schools rating. At least, this is the only explanation that makes any of this make sense to me.
