I have an offer from Datadog and Tableau for the NY area. Total comp for both is almost the same, Tableau is cash heavy while Datadog is equity focused. Offer details (Base/RSU (4 years)/SignOn) Datadog: 170k/390k/30k Tableau: 205k/160k/0, they are including 15% annual bonus though I am more inclined towards Datadog because they are a smaller company vs Tableau which has now grown because of merger with Salesforce. Datadog would also give me chance to work on latest technologies and engineering challenges. At Tableau would be stuck with legacy infrastructure and C++. What do people think about the above points? Also, how does the annual compensation review work at Datadog? Do they give refresher, if yes how much? Current TC: 160k YOE: 4 #offer #datadog #tableausoftware #career
go tableau then fb or google
lmfao what a great reason to join
How many YOE?
4. Edited the post to reflect the same

I would take Datadog
Datadog is growing company. What level/title in Datadog?
Senior SWE
Datadog 💯
What's the title at Tableau ?
Senior SWE
Bigger companies are more stable in a recession. If you have a family/visa that might be worth taking into account
Did Tableau offer any relocation assistance at all?
No. I live in NY so no relocation assistance
I dont know too much about these two but are tableau peoducts not optimized or not browser based? I hear salesforce is a very saas company so there maybe more opportunity to move tableau towards it.
I don't know anyone from the company, but I used both of them at works and I loved datadog for the inovation that they made. Tableau is good but feel like it'll be like microsoft word os something similar, necessary, but not much change.
