Coinbase vs Indeed Singapore?
I'm an SWE and recently got offers from these 2 companies YoE: ~3 TC: both above 200k SGD (Salary is not my first priority because I think it's pretty high for me already) current TC: 145k VISA: EP -------------------- Coinbase pros: 1. Crypto might be the future 2. The level is SWE, not senior SWE. So expected to be promoted in 1 ~ 2 years and TC will raise hugely again. 3. 4 x Recharge weeks + unlimited PTO 4. The team is small in Singapore and going to expand quickly this year. So expected to have more chances to make an impact and be promoted (in my imagination) cons: 1. Bad WLB (from Blind) 2. The team is quite small in Singapore, so I guess everything isn't ready, standardized, and stable. 3. 4 x Recharge weeks + unlimited PTO (worried that it means burning out before and after) -------------------------- Indeed pros: 1. Good WLB (from to Blind) 2. Able to relocate to Japan or US. 3. unlimited PTO cons: 1. Slow career growth -------------------------- Really appreciate it if any current employee can share the experience in Coinbase / Indeed. easy choice. go for coinbase. I would consider coinbase tier 1.5 just because crypto is very fragile. I'm currently looking for a job and indeed not even on my list.
May I know the reason why Indeed even isn’t in Tier 1 ~ 2 because of TC?

You're young (assuming based on the 3 YOE you mentioned) and can afford to take risk now. The Indeeds and Metas of the world will always be around when you need something safer and more stable.
who told you about relocation to Us or Japan ? and also slow growth ? I dont blv we have slow growth.. we dont have any restriction/budget on promotions. you have to prove yourself on rubrics and calibration will happen and move you up if we see doing next level work..

I can comment to this. Indeed rewards performance and the complaints about slow growth are the lazy-o's that think yoe == increase in salary. Leadership is aware that leaving increases salary, they obv don't have their heads in the sand but from what I can tell, like any company does, they use laziness and complacency to a business advantage. Growth at indeed is only slow if you let it be slow. My experience has been decent growth and collaborative so far. Everyone's generally nice but it does have a very progressive flavor which I use to my advantage even as I lean middle-right.
Relocation to Japan and especially US is not easy, do not believe it if the recruiter says so. Personally, I would go for coin base. You are young and early in your career, go to a company that’s ambitious, innovative and future thinking.

Indeed relocates to Japan a lot and with borders open again, no restrictions on visa. Agreed the US is not easy though.

May I know how does WLB happen in Indeed? How many PTOs are taken on average as an SWE?
Open PTO is misguiding but indeed is great if you want WLB… Great and challenging work is indirectly related to WLB. You want to relax or build great product.
Not sure about swe but my wlb is decent, but as recharge weeks approach you do feel the burnout but management is always pushing us to take pto as much as possible to avoid burnout. But the work here is super interesting and so many learning opportunities.

Coinbase is definitely the more innovative and faster growing brand of the two. But having been around crypto folks for a while I think it's madness – way too many get rich quick scams and rug pulls going on. Personally I'll distance myself from crypto space.
