I did research about my situation but couldn't find anything relevant. Suggestions and ideas will be appreciated.

I have 2 offers, EY (Senior Consultant) and FedEx (Business Product Analyst 3).
EY: 107k base, 10k joining in Dallas
FedEx: 94k base (trying to match 107k), 10k, one month sal for relocation joining in Memphis

EY asked for my expected salary and I mentioned 100-105k. They offered 105k without any bonus. I told them about a counter offer, 107k+10k. They agreed to match that. Is there any room for further negotiation with EY? Is yes then how should I present my case?

(They haven't offered me in written yet)

How should I decline offer with FedEx even if they match the offer?

Also I am expecting experienced associate offer from PWC but don't think they'll offer this much.

Sorry to say that, but you started it wrong. Nothing you can do about it now

You should have deferred to them and said that you’d like to wait till the end of the interview to assess the interview process first before discussing about comp. Also, if you are in CA, you can ask the range they are offering for that role and they cannot ask what your current tc is.

Set that declination email exactly how they do.

“I’m sorry, but while your offer was impressive, I’ve decided to go with more competitive offers. I will retain your information in my database for up to 1 year. “

How much more are you trying to negotiate with EY and why, especially if they are willing to match your first counter? If you can get FedEx to offer higher than $107k+$10k, you can present it again to EY but at that point you would need to promise to sign the offer.

It's mostly built on trust but I have heard of other companies asking for the offer letter

When you negotiate always use “we”. What can “we” do…. It shows you’re already thinking of yourself as part of their team and are looking for ways to make the deal work. “I” and “me” says you’re only looking out for yourself, which may be true, but as a team player you’re looking for a way both parties can be happy and you can get the outcome you’re looking for.

  • Might be hard to further negotiate with EY because they met your expectation and have matched a counter offer. Anything further may be seen as you playing the companies against each other. Worth trying only if you’re willing to lose one.

I would genuinely ask, which job and company sounds more interesting and engaging for you. At the end of the day, with only a $10k difference (if you can’t match it) I would prioritise based on the job that I believe would be more satisfying for me day to day. Just my two cents.
