Recently got an analytical principal offer based on AZ/Dallas/Iowa. Base 180, bonus 50. YOE: 7yrs. Please help. Also, is principal an ED level job?
That’s an awesome offer
Is the bonus a guaranteed 50K or an "up to 50K"? And what are the other offers?
Guaranteed first year
I guarantee it is NOT guaranteed. You misunderstood HR or hiring mgr. it means your target is 50k. It is likely you will get it but not guaranteed. After yr one there is no target and bonuses are NOT moving up in general so take that for what it is worth. Overall offer is solid.
I didn’t know that’s an issue
How did you get an offer from WF? WF is conducting layoffs.
They’re expanding the org that I got an offer from
I’m surprised you are getting a principal offer with just seven yoe. But if so, no worries. I don’t know what you mean by ED. I can say principal is pretty much highest level for IC. Where is growth potential is what I would ask boss. Offer is solid and unlikely to get more imo in analytics space. Of course you can ask for more but don’t push past 185 base is my advice. Don’t push bonus at all as they can say whatever but their budget for bonus won’t magically explode for you.
How many years of experience people usually have? ED is a rank at chase
I thought 10 minimum for principal. But really it’s usually twice as long as stated. I haven’t seen any principal ACs with less than 15 yoe but most have more. For principal risk analyst it would be 20. Again, requirements might list half that. Based on my understanding a principal at Wells is ED at Chase then. Do you have the role or just finalist at this point?
Don't count on the bonus for anything. That is a target not a guarantee. Also enjoy the forced ranking system: Consistently exceeds 5% Exceeds 15% Meets 60% Inconsistently Meets 15% Needs Improvement 5%
Forced this past year for the bottom portion more.
The HR told me that’s first year guaranteed…I’m surprised it is not lol…if I get meets and above, will that yield that? Is it possible to get higher than 50k?
Yes Principal are ED level.. executive directors.! Atleast within tech it is.!
It is different because chase rarely has any ED level IC
