I'm a full stack developer who constantly gets contacted by recruiters who know nothing about what I do and send me irrelevant posts. I am looking for a new job but not sure if I should try to send resumes to recruiters or look through job boards. It's been years since I left a job. Any recommendations on where to start? What boards are actually useful?
If you start biting with some of those recruiters it can be a great way in the door for some practice interviewing. People don't talk about it much but tech interviewing is a skill which doesn't entirely overlap with being a developer.
Recruiters without an existing relationship with the company (in-house, contracted) are useless. They will bait and switch with whatever crap job they have to fill. Find the jobs you are interested in, then contact the recruiters filling the role.
Identify the companies you'd like to work for and then reach out to the recruiters on Linkedin.
