Hedge Fund vs Goldman Sachs
First car. Is buying a luxury car like BMW benz Audi Lexus etc a bad Idea ? Is it really that bad of a financial drain ? Do the "normal" brands have good luxury interiors now that I don't have to bother buying a luxury brand?
Buy the car you want to drive and live the life you want to live. Having that said. I like driving my Subaru lol
Bad idea to get a German or British luxury brand as your first car. It can become a sinkhole if it is out of warranty. Source: had a German car as my first car. Maintenance was a nightmare outside of the warranty. Get a Lexus if you do want luxury and reliability.
Buy a CPO German car that has extended warranty and only 1 previous owner. It's not that hard to find.
Courtesy vehicles at the dealer also come with cpo warranty
If you are asking this question obviously you are paying for the brand rather than the car.
Buy a commuter, pay it off. Then revisit this question.
Lexus is one of the most reliable brands on the road. I would say going BMW, Benz or Audi is a mistake, even though they’re way cooler.
I have an Audi A4 and I am really happy with it. If you can afford to buy new then both Audi and Honda , Nissan etc would be fine. After 5 years maintenance costs on Audi, BMW would be a bit higher than Japanese counterparts. It's that simple. Having said that, these days Toyota has stepped up so do check out their latest Corolla and Camry models.
Check what car you like for each brand and compare their expected TCO. For example, a Nissan Murano and Mercedes E350 both are expected to cost $14,700 in maintenance over 10 years. A Sentra is expected to cost you $7200...source:Clark.com
Used Infinities are good. Carmax has a bunch of former leases at good prices.
Ask yourself why you want to buy a luxury car. To show off to friends and family? Guarantee you they dgaf about what kind of car you drive.
