Finally I give up, going back to India.
Hey, I've an offer from Tusimple (Tucson, AZ)! I'm wondering if it's good idea to join the company and how is the company atmosphere? #tech #engineering #autonomous Thanks
I can only speak of the algo side. The culture is very corporative, compared to one of the larger AV companies that I used to work at. WLB is OK. Definitely not as laid back as google but not atypical for fast-pace places of a similar size.
Are you based out of SD office?
What's the TuTC at TuSimple in TuScon?
Not muchðŸ˜ðŸ˜
"Should I join Tusimple?" No, avoid it like the plague. Tubonic plague.
Elaborate pls?
You've to be very very freekinnnng lucky to fall under good manager @tusimple. I don't think they're not any one at least not anymore anyone left of that kind. So risk is your chance. Again, wlb depends on team and folks you work with; not the amount of work you work here in this company. Like I said you've to be lucky enough!! Hint - recollect how your interview went and how was your talks with HM. For next two years they got some cash to burn so you're good on that side.
How do you think about the future of Tusimple comparing with Waymo?
Unless someone buys us I don't see much progress. Waymo is different they are not just on Commercial market; they're in passenger market too so they're diversified. Again they work in very closed box so not sure what they're roadmap look like.
Really depend on team. We got more asshole after we grow bigger, which is inevitable I think. Pay in TUC would be decent regarding things are cheap there
I have to ask why the company’s stock went up crazy from 06/11 to 06/30. Anyone has an answer?
don't come, (leaving now)
it was clear even during the interview process that they have diversity issues. when i enquired with folks in blind, folks confirmed it. There have been instances of people not being invited for meetings as they were non mandarin speaking. I necessarily did not think of it as a concern however I had a tough time following a couple of interviewers with thick accent ( i am non native english speaker as well).
Ya all my interviewers were Chinese and I had a tough time understanding one of them! I'm not native as well but I'm not Chinese so maybe they are being more diverse! Regardless, I'm interested in wlb and team culture!
I had a recruiter reach out so I checked out the people on linkedin and it's like 99% chinese. Definitely not interested.
