25+ years of experience. Don’t you know what to do already?

Neurocrine pridemonth Jun 23, 2020

18+ years old. Don't you know how to have some empathy?

People who claim they know what they are doing are liars and need to be rounded up and shot

Amazon CYvI05 Jun 23, 2020

Any reason for layoff? Just curious, never heard Intuit layoff people

Amazon White Guy Jun 23, 2020

They had huge layoffs today - 700 people

OP...SBSEG or CG? Without knowing more about your exact experience but knowing that Intuit Staff level PD people are well balanced engineers, I'd recommend you've these choices - 1) Go for an Engineering Mgr role at the likes of established but not too fast shops like Kohls, Salesforce, EBay etc. 2) Go for a Director level role at a Series B or C funded startup. If you can accept the risk. 3) Take your knowledge wealth and join established or scaling fintechs or banks...Chime, Robinhood, Aspiration, JP Morgan digital, Goldman Sachs digital team etc. 4) Screw all of this and go work on that startup idea that you've always wanted to work on. Give yourself 9-12 month deadline and objectives. DM me if you want to chat further. Sending major positive vibes your way! Good Luck my friend!

“Very strong skills/experience” sure.

Citadel HTyJ87 Jul 2, 2020

Hey you fucking snowflake leave the guy alone. I bet he does have strong skills and experience after 25 years

Snowflake Computing ksuid Jul 2, 2020

That wasn’t the point you idiot, after 25 yrs you’d also have some decency and yes may be knowledgeable but never say you’re “very strong” in anything. Humbleness is key but I guess it’s something you don’t know either :)

25 yoe and you were only staff software engineer? Is that really the timeline? I would’ve expected principal or senior staff

Salesforce Gwds12 Jul 2, 2020

Well, everyone's story is different. Why judge? Are you going to help the person in getting a referral?

IBM Whitehurst Jul 2, 2020

I’m genuinely curious on the trajectory and how much is needed to get to principal

Salesforce Gwds12 Jul 2, 2020

DM me for Salesforce. Be advised that there's a hiring freeze for a majority of roles though.
