I have a technical phone/video interview at AppFolio for the SWE role. It's supposed to last 60 minutes. What kind of questions should I expect? Anything specific? What're the top things I need to focus on while preparing? The interview is in 4 days. Thanks.
I’m not an engineer, but my interview was a joke. Subpar compared to other tech companies.
Ucsb? Why did you pick procore over appfolio. Procore had a pretty bad rep underpaying interns and new grads when I was there.
Not UCSB and not an intern or new grad. Procore pay ranges are significantly higher than AppFolio. The bottom of the range at Procore for my level was higher than the top of the range for the same level and role at AppFolio. I got several red flags during the interview process at AppFolio. The person I would report to was pretty junior and his interview questions for me all focused on my bosses from my previous jobs (how our relationships were, what they did well, what they didn’t do well), even 10 years back on my resume, it was so weird. During the interview I asked him if the team I was interviewing with was the team I would be working with. He told me no and then asked me why I would see value in that. I was dumbfounded. I also knew more about an area they were expanding into product-wise than he did, meaning research a potential partner of theirs had been working on for years that he had no idea about. My old boss knows his boss from a previous company and told me it was a case of “Bs hiring Cs.” I have old coworkers who work there now and say they like it, so it may have just been this department or this team, who knows. Oh, and the recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn like 2 months later to see if I was interested in interviewing as if he didn’t know that I rejected the offer to him 2 months back.
I used to work there a while ago. I think my interview was heavy on pairing, tdd and I got like a graph search.
I was there a while ago. Are you local uni grad? It might be a test on pair programming, tdd or oop.
