Not a fan of going to gyms. What are simple ways to do strength training at home or in parks? I am thinking of getting a pair of dumbbels. Any other good recommendations? Update: I am in good shape, doing park walks and weekend skiing. Lower end normal BMI, excellent muscle mass, excellent protein level, but bone density according to the body scale is 200 grams below normal range. Iād like to make this number right by strength training. Thanks!
calisthenics workout
Difficult for beginners though
Getting in shape is difficult. Sometimes you have to do difficult things if you want change.
At home body workouts. Staying consistent is hard.
If possible get the variable weight dumbbells - bowflex seems to be good. A barbell with some basic weights - a couple of 10s and 5s to start with. An adjustable bench - incline/decline/abs etc. Resistance bands. A squat cage with a pull up bar - assuming you have a garage with good flooring. Also this thing can topple so make sure it has a good base. Thatās pretty much what you need to get going. See how it goes and you can plan for lats, etc. Stay hard šŖš½
> variable weight dumbbells plus a few kettlebells should be enough for a beginner. Once you get into the habit of exercising, then start researching benches, barbells, squat racks; a full set can get pricey.
I havenāt gone to gym in 20 years. Am in better shape than 90% of my friends. Push-up, Pull-up, bar dips and body weight squats / jumps accomplish more than youād realize! Get outside, breathe the air and soak in some sunshine mate! I live in a sunshine rich area of CA though. So depends where you are at.
Your statement doesnāt really mean anything. You could also have software engineer friends who donāt do any exercise. Thus, not going to the gym will be okay.
Good tips! Thanks!
Seriously, just do at home calisthenics. Itās for strength. You see those guys with sideways pull ups with little muscles? Itās calisthenics
Swimming. Put on speedo. Become Adonis
Canāt any more. The goggles left dark circles around eyes and take hours to fade.
30 min workouts on Netflix.
Gym has never worked for me. Swimming, biking outdoors whenever I can. Pull-up bar and rowing machine indoor. Keep trying a bunch of different things one at a time and see what sticks the longest. There's no need to go to gym because it's the most common routine
Resistance bands. Dumbbell set from Costco when they have them. Cheap and occupies a small space
I didnāt like going to the gym too. Then I got a personal trainer and now Iām pretty motivated to go and see improvements over time
