SK Hynix/Solidigm Offer Evaluation
I got offer from SK HYNIX in San Jose which is merging into SOLIDIGM next month. I know that recruiter is trying to lowball me. How can I negotiate more ? I received SK Hynix offer at present. Solidigm offer will be issued next month. In the meantime, they want to start H1B process with SK Hynix if I accept the offer Base Salary : 135K Bonus : 15% RSUs : don’t know yet (will be offered by SOLIDIGM in another offer) Joining Bonus : 20% of Base YoE : 4 (2 years in job related field) Current TC : 150K #hardware #interview #semiconductor

The 15% bonus part will change in Solidigm. They gave us a benefits presentation once but it was a bit confusing, so need to wait for details on that. Base salary will remain the same. Solidigm will have 5% cash bonus fixed, and more mixture of cash and rsu based on personal and company performance. Their bonus cycle is every 6 months, but some part of that is only annual. Know that SK’s insurance is vastly superior to what Solidigm will offer, but Solidigm will have instant 401k vesting rather than waiting 2/3 years for 50/100% vesting. SK currently has free meals for all 3 times, but won’t be there moving forward.
HR emailed that they can’t offer more than this base pay. So I rejected the offer.
