Used Porsche 911 vs Tesla Model 3
I know the two are entirely different cars. But a new model 3 is around the exact cost as a used 10-15-year-old manual Porsche 911 (997) which in my mind has always been in classic sports cars. It would be fun to own for a few years and get out of my system before everything becomes EV. Anyone on blind can add color to the two options? Edit: Thanks for the comments! Not even close, get the Porsche. Everyone and their mom has a model 3 these days. It’s a dime a dozen and overrated imo
Get the Porsche and track the car. The most fun I ever had was on the race track.

I guess if it's excitement you're looking for I'd go with the Porsche. I had an old boss at Microsoft who a few years ago bought clean condition used 911 (I think it was early 2000s era) with a manual. I don't know how he found it but it was owned by a guy working finance in NYC and it had mostly been sitting in the garage. He had a guy do a really clean install of an aftermarket touchscreen deck (so he had car play and Android auto) as well as a discreet radar detector behind the rearview mirror. That really modernized the car. The body style aged well so it didn't look really out of date, and ironically after a few years he sold it and got a Tesla. If you were comparing it to the model 3 performance and you were looking for fun, I'd take the Tesla. But for just a long range, it would be more fun with the Porsche (assuming you're not doing stop and go commute with a clutch - that gets old really fast)

Neither. You make 400k, buy an electric Porsche taycan. Best of both worlds.
If you’re considering both options seriously, you need to know why. What do you see in the Tesla that beats the Porsche? And what if you buy both? Anyway, I know you’re going with the Porsche but you’ll regret to not belong to the Tesla tech fanbois club. And the latter is a problem to take to your therapist because it’s not real.
