My new company (not Podium) just announced we’re required to be in the office four days a week starting in October. I’m currently on track for promotion and I’m at the point in my career where I feel like it’s going to look bad if I don’t have any in-company promotions on my resume. However I don’t want to “drink the koolaid” and encourage my company’s policy change because I don’t agree with it. I feel like I’m stuck with either becoming some yes-man pushover or shoot myself in the foot so I can stick to my principles of what kind of company I support and give my time to. Is it worth compromising my feelings/integrity to possibly get that promotion? I’m curious how others go about thinking through this kind of dilemma. ETA: I don’t know if this makes a difference, but I’m not 100% positive this isn’t my company’s way of reducing headcount without having to pay severance. Are you eng? My tc is 3x with 1/3 of the yoe and still remote. Just gtfo of that company.
I was curious about location. I’m 10 YOE and a little over 210…
