Hello, I have recently gotten an offer from WDC for Principal Engineer position. But I am confused to see no RSUs to begin with. The HR told that every year RSUs will be given by 20% of the base vested over 4 years. Interestingly, in the actual letter nothing is written about this, only base and bonus. HR told that this is the norm, I just have to believe that there will be RSUs. It seems weird to me. Also, there is no lump sum RSUs. Does anyone know about this? Current offer: 170k base + 15% bonus + 10k cash sign on + 20% RSU (confused) YOE: 5 Existing: 153k base + 15% bonus, no RSUs #hardware #semiconductor #WDC
Hey, Hr asked me to call bsck about some good news. So, I'm expecting an offer too. Is this for bay area?
Yes, for bay area
I think base is decent and aligned with technologist med. Try asking more rsu.
Asked that and got it.
Op what's up? Your base is so high Which org?
Are you with master or PhD with 5 YOE? Base is high
is principal engineer 1 or 2 levels above staff engineer?
2 levels above in WD
No principle is one level above staff, two level above senior
I got a staff offer last year and got $26k/4years RSU. Base was 145k. I didn't even see the offer letter, turned it down. I did remember when the recruiter called, I had to ask about the RSU.
What was your TC at intel?
Around 130k, in Folsom, CA. Wd offer after negotiation was 145k base, 25k sign on and 26k/4y RSU.
