layoffs @convoy

Layoffs in HR, Recruiting and IT due to hiring freeze. Culture declining rapidly. Complete lack of empathy by leadership. @convoy

Layoffs due to hiring freeze. Seems weird

Convoy YepH76 OP Apr 10, 2020

They are laying off Recruiters due to a hiring freeze. No hiring = no need for recruiters.

Amazon TT star Apr 10, 2020

Wow they hit me up for a pm role last year. Glad I didn’t join

Shouldn’t trucking be doing well these days? Anyways if you want to stay in transportation business, Argo is aggressively hiring.

Can I DM for referral, please? For ML role.

I had heard Convoy was doing well and hiring

Convoy YepH76 OP Apr 11, 2020

Very little hiring. As of last week almost all roles are frozen.

Convoy cVvg41 Apr 14, 2020

Yes, Convoy is still hiring essential roles across Prod/Eng/DS.

Pactera WQoS47 Apr 12, 2020

I saw that someone in the SDE role has been layoff at Convoy is that true?

Convoy cVvg41 Apr 14, 2020

No, it’s not.

Pactera WQoS47 Apr 14, 2020

I saw someone post in my company email distribution list

Convoy cVvg41 Apr 14, 2020

Convoy is fine. Layoffs are in recruiting because the hiring rate has gone down. Not sure what ‘declining culture’ you’re referring to but OK I guess.

Wish x🤨🤨😱🤨🤨 Apr 15, 2020

How is overall the company culture? Is it cutthroat like amazon? I know company is being cheap.

Tyler Technologies batwomannn Apr 26, 2020

This might be a crazy idea to people without empathy, but just because recruiting declines doesn’t mean you need to fire people. It’s awful to be without a job at a time like this. Give them different responsibilities, give them a paid vacation, Jesus.

Convoy 🐇Brunny🍼 Apr 23, 2020

Company is doing fine. We're just being ultra conservative and prudent. We're not mature yet, and need to adjust to avoid being burnt. Culture has stayed the same (minus the distance). That said, it's always good to look out for yourself in the event of (unlikely) collapse.

Zulily colbert May 3, 2020

How was the rest of the company notified about the layoffs, officially or via rumor mill?

Convoy truckin May 7, 2020

Via company wide Q&A with leadership

I would avoid logistics as a whole. I would also avoid companies that boast the TAM potential of a industry and how they will revolutionize the industry with their “tech”. Brokerage businesses are extremely tough unless you a have moat which most logistics companies do not have.

This convoy user sounds like a PR person. You are contradicting every Glassdoor review from this summer
