linkedin swe range

currently prepping for linkedin onsite scheduled for next week. Recruiter downleveled me to a swe instead of sr. Currently have a competing offer of 280k, wondering what the highest linkedin will go for swe and if i should even prep for this onsite... edit: interviewing for application track current tc: 195k yoe: 3

Take that competing offer!

Would rather work at LinkedIn though. The commute is much better. Just wondering how high swe offers go

Atleast u wont get 280k as competing offer.

Did the recruiter say why the downlevel you to swe?

Uber phabrikatr OP Jan 26, 2020

Just that Sr expects 4-5 years of industry experience and my yoe is too low. I pushed for Sr but unsuccessful

Don’t accept downlevel. Not worth it.

The other role requires commuting to the city though... So LinkedIn is preferred if the gap is not too huge. I'm also hoping if I get an offer, to get promo quickly

Highest swe is probably ~250k but it’s not the norm

Uber phabrikatr OP Jan 26, 2020

Is that base + equity/4 + annual bonus?

yes

How was it?! Kinda nervous for the system design round

As others mentioned, new SWE offers won't go up to 280k. Also, I'm surprised that you were downslotted to SWE even before the interview. With Uber on the resume, 3 yoe should be enough to schedule a Sr loop, though you might still get downleveled if feedback is not that great.

Uber phabrikatr OP Jan 26, 2020

Is the interview loop different for swe vs Sr? My understanding of swe is 2 coding, 1 hm, 1 TC, 1 system and design. Is Sr diff from this?

Uber phabrikatr OP Jan 26, 2020

Yah I'm also quite surprised. Maybe there are only headcounts for swe? Is that how this works haha
