Hi- I currently work in HR tech consulting. i have recently started feel burnt out lately. I am looking to leave the software consulting field and get a role at Amazon in their HR corporate department as a manager role. Does anyone have any insight on this or can provide any tips?
There is not a function at Amazon more disrespected then HR- senior leadership openly talks shit about them 😂
I have worked with good HR people and they are great. My current HRBP could easily be replaced with a stuffed cat and no one would notice.
Oh, you know who your HRBP is? Can’t relate...
That sucks. Why is there disrespect? HR is Lazy? No action? There are some good ones but some I wonder about
I phone interviewed for a spot in HR at Amazon.
I interviewed for Amazon HR 3 times, all three times I thought it was horrible to work there. It feels like they have started to build HR function after they surpassed 100K employees. They are still building their HR infrastructure, HRBPs are slammed with onboarding new managers and running semi-annual performance reviews, and PIPs. The wlb is non-existent and you pretty much learn only how to treadmill all the time. If you want to move out of consulting talk to your clients in private and tell them you want to move on.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
It’s the same field but different employee
Yes, you are right about that. But, any resume tips on getting myself noticed?
I’d have to see your resume. I don’t think it’s hard to get their attention. Passing the interview is the hard part. Do you have any specific ques?
