I have 4 yoe and got following as offer from Lyft(SF) L4 > base:145k >rsu's:330k over 4 years Is this a good offer? Also, I wanted to know how much tax is cut on the RSU's when received? Can we sell them immediately when received?
What's the rsu vesting schedule?
25% first year and 1/12th every quarter after that . is this good offer? Also how does Rsu work?
1. U just get it when it vests (most public companies) 2. U get a price set at which u can buy as they vest. (most startups)
Base seems low
what it should be?
160?
How were ur interviews? I have phone screen on Monday. Right now lyft is my best shot at big(n)
since I have signed the nondisclosure agreement, I cannot disclose the exact questions but I will suggest leetcode (easy, medium) and cracking the code should be enough
One data point, 3.5 yoe, base 172k, 560k rsu, 20k sign on. Recruiter said I am close to T5. This is in Seattle.
hmmm I need to check again :( this is sad
Welcome to Lyft! If you are given 82k a year in stock, at today's price that's about 1680 shares a year or about 140 shares a month. https://smartasset.com/taxes/california-paycheck-calculator#p6ijJLnBBM If your tax rate is 37% (not unusual for California a Tax Hell), you will get 88 shares (63%) and the other 51 shares (27%) will be liquidated and go to retiring your payroll tax deduction(s). One extra share will be sold, part of it goes to your paycheck, part goes to your taxes. This will happen on every paycheck. RSUs will only be sellable when the quarterly trading window is open, about 1 month in 3, i.e. four times a year.
Thanks alot
isn't the tax on the RSU more as then the California tax like 45-50%?
Did you interview for T4 or you got down leveled from T5?
i was not aware of what level I was interviewing for
Okay. Thanks
Here's a data point for you, 165k, 540k RSU, 20k sign on at T4. 3.5 yoe. Overall it's on the low side, get competing offers to bump it up. Starting point should be 250k.
Thanks
This is a really good offer. I'd take it.
That’s a great offer. What is the position you interviewed for? Referral for 5 yoe embedded swe ?
Any bonus? Just wondering
nope
