Hi, I am considering freelancing for a little bit and feel what it is to be a freelancer. I have heard of TopTal and I decided to get myself in there. How is TopTal interview? What is TopTal looking for in a candidate for the TopTal network? What can I do to make it through?

I was ultimately let go from Toptal's network because I received a single complaint from one of the companies I was working for that I had produced a UI bug. Apparently, Toptal will not care for you and protecting their companies reputation is above everything else.
They won't be in your corner when they encounter an unreasonable customer.
Think of the situation, I work for this company for over three months, help them actually ship a product to paying customers/users, and they still had the audacity to adamantly complain I had made a single mistake and that broke the camel's back (it was unforgivable in other words).
Point of the story, Toptal is a great place but make sure you keep brown-nosing because your livelihood depends on how your clients will review you at the end of the contract. Even if you know you did well, such as in my case where I had mentored their senior/lead engineer, keep a very good relationship with whoever hired you!
