Final numbers after 2 rounds of negotiations with competing offer in HCOL city P4 (Atlanta, relocating from HCOL) Base: 190K Stocks: 260K/4 Bonus: 10% Sign On: 50K WD TC: 325K (Year 1) | 275K (Year 2) + any refreshers/merit increase Current TC: 240K #tech #workday
That’s awesome for ATL
You must be good at negotiating
A series of events led up to this role being based in ATL after I was already half way through the process.. by the end of everything, I had another offer for 285K TC fully remote but honestly the people at Workday gave a much better vibe so I was willing to give them a chance. In addition, the security realm I specialize in is very difficult to find talent outside of the Bay Area and NYC. I figured with refreshers and living in a MCOL city, I should be in a substantially better position financially 2+ years down the line.
Which security team if you don't mind or can I dm you?
Congratulations, OP! Take the offer and roll with it. Workday is an excellent company to join, and that TC hike is absolutely worth it. Just be careful about which team/org you’re signing on for. Good luck! TC: 90K
Very very strong ATL offer. Take it and rest, you made it Do not forget about ~50% refreshers every year
Yoe?
Isn't your TC for that offer 279k (not 330k), I'm guessing you're adding the sign on bonus to get to the $330k, but that's only one-time, so personally I wouldn't consider it as ongoing TC.
Technically my TC for that offer is 324K as that’s the total compensation for first year after my start date that would be reported to the IRS But if you’d like to debate over semantics, would you prefer I add up the total compensation over the entire vesting period and divide by 4 to give the most accurate average TC lol But I’ve updated my post to reflect Year 2 comp
Lol I wasn't looking to debate, just making sure you were considering the whole package
That is close to top of range for P4 outside of California, so it is a very good offer. Only thing to be aware of is that it will likely be difficult to get raises without a promotion to P5, because you are already well above midpoint.
This base gives me some room for 3-4% merit increases for a few years before I reach top band. I would hope that I am able to get promoted to P5 before I hit my 4 year mark
P5 promotions are super hard at workday . Just FYI .
Great offer for ATL
Congrats
