I’m thinking about relocating and am unfamiliar with the market mechanics. What’s the best way to find a fair market value apartment or room beyond the mainstream commercial apartment buildings? Are there any property management companies you’d recommend? Or any to stay away from? Landlords? Neighborhoods? Quit showering for a couple weeks, put on some ratty clothes and find a homeless outreach group, they'll set you up with a free one. Why anyone actually pays to live in the city is beyond me. Look into Vancouver, WA, you get all the benefits of WA (no income tax...kinda) and no sales tax. Camas is hot and the waterfront just got redone so either downtown Vancouver or East Vancouver is way better. Stay away from the Kirkland building there though it's garbage for the price.
