Spotify vs Meta
If you have two offers , Spotify Senior and Meta E4, which one will you choose? I’m 28, no child yet. I have 3 YOE and want to build my future but also don’t want to be miserable. Both has their pros and cons, but supper scared of Meta’s WLB as well as Spotify’s career growth The pay is comparable, the only difference is Spotify is remote and Meta is hybrid (Seattle) #meta #spotify

WLB or money/career growth? Figure that out first.
Money is the same (or at least close enough). For career growth inside the companies , Meta should be better but Spotify one is already equal to e5 , but not sure after that. WLB is important but since I don’t have child yet, I may be flexible on that but not like 11-12hours /day man ….this is the part not sure
Money is definitely not the same when you consider higher refresher + career growth at meta. Also idk where you heard this fake news, plenty of decent WLB teams here

Yeah but for that many people just looked into TC which realized wasn’t correct either because I didn’t consider the bonus. Both want to look into other aspect of it

What about the meta’s WLB ?
Meta has no WLB but has great stock upside potential. Let’s see if u want money or WLB. U can’t have both. Since u got no kid, I recommend that u take the more adventurous route.

I'm joining Spotify soon as senior mle and these are a few things I have learnt: - excellent wlb - great culture - slow promotion - little to no bonuses - easy to change teams my thinking is that Spotify is a good brand name for you to switch roles in future so it's not really slow career growth.

Wow this is a tough decision. I would personally pick Spotify. Love the brand Company is medium sized (hate working for companies with a ton of employees. Feels less impactful) WLB, Culture, Values Probably more interesting work. Pick Meta if only TC matters, you’ll probably get paid a lot more there
