Do employees get accelerated vesting and get all cash ?? What happens to promo cycles in pipeline? https://techcrunch.com/2022/12/12/thoma-bravo-snags-coupa-for-8b-despite-activist-pressure-to-hold-off-for-higher-price/
Why would they? You don’t even own the shares.
What happens to an employee who joined like a month ago? If it is all cash deal, should they not buy out all shares like elon did ?? Or will the employees still have a vesting period but in cash value?
During an acquisition, long termers and higher position employees will get an accelerated vesting, will reap tons, and leave. For new comers, maybe if the company is very nice and feel they have made enough for the higher ups, may do like 25%, 40%, etc early vesting. Lot of unknowns.
Whoa - good luck everyone at Coupa
What's TB?
The article makes it sound scary.
Zendesk did not get accelerated vesting. Every deal is different but at ZD stock just converted to cash and keeps the same vesting schedule.
Then what's the difference between a yearly bonus vs yearly RSU?
Usually bonus is based on company metrics, RSUs converted to cash are not. Also the RSUs run out eventually if not refreshed.
