I spoke to this one recruiter from this recruiting firm who have been calling me every couple weeks to tel me about some position that is paying under my asking. Mostly irrelevant calls to be honest. He asked me if I’m interviewing with any one else and I told him Google. He then told me something like there’s been lots of layoffs at going around or something related to big tech. Which I guess is true but it also feels like he was trying to dissuade me.## Also I told a Microsoft recruiter that I was also interviewing with google as a heads up and he’s like “thanks for the heads up and I’ll forward this to the teams when you get to the offer stage” (I haven’t even had a test yet) Then 2 minutes later I got an email that my application was denied????? A friend of mine who got hired there said sometimes Msoft moves you to other applications and that sends you the rejection letter. Asked the recruiter about it and did the get a response. I’m new to the world of interacting with recruiters. Should I just keep it a secret on who I’m interviewing with?
Microsoft knows they can't compete
Yes, they are trying to sell you their used car.
No, anticipated compete offers will pad your tc offer
Anyone who rejects your application because you're looking at other companies is not worth your time. It immediately lets you know that they can't afford top talent and are looking for people that nobody else wants so they can lowball them
I definitely agree. I actually got the microsoft code test email so I guess they did do what my friend said. That’s weird as hell though that they would send that first email lol it was hilarious I was like “dang bro you couldn’t wait atleast a day?”
