Meta’s RSU and vest period

Based on my understanding Meta will provide RSU’s over a four year vesting period, no cliff. Every quarter employees will receive 1/16th of this amount. If you leave before your four years are you still able to sell the shares awarded to date? Meaning if I leave after a year, can I cash in a years worth of stock earned or do I have to wait 4 years to cash in the years worth or do I have to give back all years worth of stock back to Meta (meaning I get nothing)?

Yup whatever is vested is all yours to sell!

Cliff is in 4 years when your initial grant runs out and you're left with accumulated refreshers. Since initial grant is the largest, your TC suddenly drops after growing for 4 years.

(And you have to default on your mortgage unless you get a promotion and higher refreshers and bonuses)

unless you’re already E6+, a promo or two in 4 years is very doable and your refreshers can end up outweighing the initial grant

there are 4 trading windows each year, lasting about a month each, around the time of quartely vesting events. You can sell any stocks are vested during that time. Many sell immediately and invest in index funds to diversify.

Can't the stock be transferred to your private depot account?
