#paypal gang, does the future look good? I get the stock is in the dumps but new leadership seems good? #paypal #tech
FWIW there is no way but up for this stock, can’t go any lower - any guesses if they did well in q4?
That’s what I thought too when I held their stock for 2+ years but I realized I would never get my money back. They were trading at about 80 before the pandemic and hit a record high of 300 before slumping to 55. Even their longtime partner eBay never slid down so much after their pandemic high of 70. PayPal investors thought it could survive without eBay but from the looks of it, it is eBay that is able to function independently without PayPal.
You are not wrong. My thought process is that even if it’s a shitty company, given the transaction volume and the sheer profits it’s generating (not to mention the $5B buyback last year) it’s worth $100 atleast. Not saying it is worth $300 but is it worth only $60? I think if the CEO can show that he’s focused on margin expansion and shipping decent features (doesn’t have to be home runs), this company can run. My impression of the CEO has been that he’s a heavy execution focused guy…which might bode well for the company and stock
Workload isn’t too bad if you can survive the layoff rounds. Stock can’t go that much further down. Institutional money bought in here (adjusted for inflation)
Write off the loss and move on
Genuinely think it could pull a turn around here
Sorry this did not age well 😆
