Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
You can. Just don't know that the company buys those for employees. If you have a personal laptop, I don't know that anyone would stop you...
Yes, designers tend to have Macs and I've seen people with Linux boxes
Yeah. And if you work on Office for Mac or just iOS apps in general you need a Mac and the company provides them.
Yes you can. Colleague uses a Mac with windows installed on it. Also there are a lot of devs that develop products that need to run on Mac + Windows so they use MacOS too. Also company buys iPads, iMac if they are needed for your product testing or developing (saw a friend with iMac and coding in Xcode)
My division has a number of people that write cross platform software and they is MAC as their main developer machine.
You can use any device as long as you enroll it to corporate MDM for security purposes. Obviously, unless there is a valid business reason don't expect company to purchase Macbook for you.
You don’t necessarily even have to enroll it. It’s probably best that you do.
Why would you want to if you aren’t a Dev on that platform? If you were a field person and showed up with a Mac I would hope you get dinged by your manager.
Hmm let me think... Because Windows suck?
Ha ha. That’s a fine opinion, but if you want to work for MSFT then you should be checking that at then door. Same would be said if a MSFT person came to Google.
Which laptops does Microsoft allows to choose from for new grads?
Sure, if you do dev work on those platforms.
Field tech role.. i guess no then
If you're still at G and considering MS field, stay away. Cancer org with low talent
