Most people in tech are on employment visas and a job is a prerequisite for those visas. Another reason is to sustain the inflated lifestyle.

I’ve taken a minimum 3 month break between every single job I’ve had, working is for losers.
I think it should be normalized. Most people just have expensive lifestyles or debt that make it too difficult to just stop earning that paycheck. Or they need the health plan/have many dependents that the employer is paying premiums for.
Most people (70%+) live paycheck to paycheck. I’ve had coworkers over the years earning 500k+ tell me they cannot afford to not work for short periods of time.
