Considering a National Lab offer based on immigration status

I am currently working with a non-profit university employer who is willing to file I-140, but do not know the exact timeline. I have recently received a national lab offer in data science that pays extremely well (85% raise) compared to my current employer. They are willing to transfer my H1-B, but the problem is they will not do PERM application but will only apply to I-140 under the EB1 and EB2NIW category. But I heard these two categories are predominantly for Ph.D. folks who have a great research background, but since I have a Masters and I do not have publications or any research work so far do you think is it still worth making a switch? I am currently in 1st year of H1-B #workvisa #immigration #h1b #nationallab

You probably need an immigration lawyer or something for this. And that's probably the only advice you should take from Blind on this.

Is it still worth considering?

Yes u should see an immigration lawyer. But speaking from experience, it’s a longgggg shot. You technically don’t need a PhD for EB’s. But publications is a must unless u have other ways to demonstrate your abilities. So if you make the switch, you’re banking on publishing & getting citations before your visa runs out. You’re in data science, which is not a bad bet for that to happen. But still, it’s a longgggg shot.
