WHERE would you rather lay ur eggs
In what location people are more happier?
Munich if you can afford it! Bay is paradise for homeless and where life becomes work
Munich is a truly amazing city. I'd rather live the life of an average Munich resident than be a Bay Area multimillionaire. Honestly, in America only NYC can beat it.
How are the beaches in Munich?
You are a cheap high speed rail ticket from the Mediterranean buddy. Bay area beaches are 🗑. You need to drive down to SoCal for something respectable
Munich is a nice city with easy access to the rest of Europe. Cities like Prague and Zurich are a few hours away. The area around thr central Station is pretty sketchy but overall a very walkable city. That being said, it depends on what your priorities are. Even though there is a big international diaspora, you might find it hard to integrate with the local people unless you can speak German well. Also salaries wouldn't be as high as the bay area. Gloomy and depressing weather for most part of the year. But hey it's your life and your choices
> Gloomy and depressing weather for most part of the year. That might have been 10 - 15 years ago, but last few years were super sunny and clear. In fact, 35+ degrees during summer time is becoming the norm in Germany, unfortunately. Salaries will be much lower, If you earn 100K EUR you are considered top of the top according to what most of the people earn. The expenses, though, are also high. So for someone that needs to relocated now it's going to be quite pricey.
What are you optimizing for? Are you optimizing for money? Go to the bay area. Are you optimizing for a high quality life and family friendly place with very low crime? Where kids go to school alone from age 6? Go to Munich. Language will be a problem if you have zero interest in learning it.
So many variables to consider. How is your german ? Munich is an amazing city you will definitely fall in love with it. German work culture and society is way more family friendly than U.S. you will even get monthly payments for your kids. As a parent you get 3 years of leave of which 14 months are paid. The hospitals are beautiful especially Geisenhofer which is built alongside the river. If even one person is working the whole family gets access to free healthcare, child care and school. The only sticking point is language. It can be a struggle as Munich is the capital of conservative Bavaria and while you will get by speaking English for day to day stuff, school and administrative stuff will all be in German.
If you are Rajesh, then Bay Area
Didn’t know chickens worked in the tech industry
