Blinders keep telling me Ruby is dead, yet many companies are still using it, so when is it going to ded
Not at Roblox but in general so much legacy Ruby code exists it's a nightmare. Nobody likes it but everyone is stuck with it and will be for a long time (10+ years).
Can you explain why? Never used it but like go and python it got a hype for few years.
When Ruby was hyped it seemed like all the bootcamps being spammed at me were offering it. Given how many power features it offers that you should probably avoid using in 99% of projects, it seems like the worst language to give to a bunch of bootcampers. I'm imagining that most legacy ruby code was thrown together by bootcampers and yeah I wouldn't want to maintain it either. The best project I ever worked on was a ruby project though and it was certainly non-trivial. We had strict standards for what features you were allowed to use in our codebase though.
I hate ruby code. Nothing is as sexy and beautiful as python

What is ded can never ded.
Imo in 7-10 years ish. It'll die a slow death though it's too popular to just disappear.
