My son called me out and told me his therapist says I'M messing him up (I pay for this fucking therapist)....I just got divorced and my son isn't taking it well. I think the therapist isn't helping but I can't just tell him I'm not letting him go to this therapist because she said I was the problem...
Have you considered the possibility that you are the problem? Especially with the divorce in mind.
The-rapist
The way your son described you led the therapist to their conclusion about you
not necessarily. many theeapists are bad and harmful. they also have bad incentives. even FDA approved drugs have side effects. Who approved that therapist's process? What are the side effects? People shouldn't go to therapists automatically unless you have a problem that have evidence specific therapy helping (like CBT for OCD)
maybe you should get a therapist instead of posting for validation on blind...
So just because you pay the therapist does that mean he has to be on your side? Lol
Even mentioning that he pays the therapist proves that he is the problem.
Exactly. So toxic 🤮
Sometimes therapists can be hacks, sometimes they are good. Approach it with an open mind. Maybe ask to have a shared/family session with the therapist. It could help you get a feeling for if the therapist is being manipulative to make a buck, or if you really are part of the problem.
Based on all the information you've provided, you are likely a monster. Because, you've shared very little with us. Please include some other info, like your side of the story. Obviously your therapist is only going off your son's perspective with some attempts at adjusting for bias.
i love how monster.com shows up in related companies lol
How do you know you’re NOT actually messing him up?

Time heals all wounds. Let him vent.
OP sounds deranged in this post
That's bad advice. Some wounds are too deep and may never heal. Professional help at the right time can be fundamental.
