H1B - What To Do Now?
TC - 15LPA YOE - 8 Role - Senior Network Engineer (on bench) Got petition filed in 2020 and Visa approved and i797 received in late 2021 due to various reasons. I was pulled out of the project in Feb22. Was trying to get it stamped in 2021 but didn't get a slot. Now I have got the i797 with me but can't get it stamped because consulate is not accepting customer letter that was issued in 2020 as I only have that with me. (confirmed with someone who got it stamped). Visa valid till Oct2023 as per i797. Now I am stuck in this wierd situation where i have i797 but no stamp and can't get one till I get a new project. As per the internal immigration team, even after joining a new project, a new petition would be required with all documentation to transfer the visa and I might need to fill DS-160 again. My question is : 1) Can I try to apply for US based openings (outside Infosys) from India? 2) Will recruiters consider me knowing that a visa transfer will be required. Feeling screwed π not sure what to do. Please pardon any ambiguity.
What do you mean consulate is not accepting customer letter? You went for at stamping and got 221g?
Sorry for late reply. So basically the consulate asks that you get a new letter from the customer. Preferably from current year. Mine is dated march 2020 which they won't accept for stamping now I believe.
