i am joining as a senior manager product position
I have no idea how the product team functions internally. The team I work for is an engineer dominated team. Also to remember the senior VP is also an engineer not an MBA. Yet he seems to be good at what he is doing. I have sometimes seen engineering managers or early members of the company not responding to PMs in slack or teams group. But they schedule a call often with PMs. People here have a very deep understanding of the product. That's a good thing. But they ignore new joinees saying that they don't know anything. This judgement is quick. They don't know how to transfer the knowledge that they have and integrate new people. It's your decision. If I was you, I wouldn't make a positive move.

Annual refreshers? No such policy exist here. If you are ready to polish the shoes, maybe you will get some.
Couldnt agree more. The management has great vision, but whom do they pass that to? So called Directors and Senior Directors who graduated 4-5 years back. And people reporting to them got 15-20 years experience. And some of the so called senior folks joined from same company, so u can see how politically abrupt the company is. Unless the management decides in hiring proper experienced folks for the senior positions, this company is going down.
No one who is senior to these directors can survive even if guru or jay wishes to hire some talented ones
I joined with 6 people, I left after 10 days and from other 5, 2 of them left in less than 2 months. I joined as a front end engineer, work was very bad. Code base was very chaotic. I realized it very soon that the future will be very boring here.

It's crazy. Less experienced dudes close to few directors and VPs are managers. More experienced folks are SE and SSE reporting to them.
