need help evaluating amazon offer for an account exec role on the vendor sucess team

i received an offer at #amazon in Seattle for an account exec ii role on the vendor sucess team level 5. the offered 105k base 66k sign on year 1. 44k sign on year 2. 90 rsu’s. the hiring manager told me that his team comes in early, stays late and doesnt take lunch. he also told me we are on a leader board daily against our peers. i currently live in San Francisco, am nervous about a move to Seattle and nervous about the role and the things you hear about working at amazon. i have 20 years of sales experience. does anyone have any thoughts on whether i should accept or not?

Unless you’re ready for a nonstop diet of emotional abuse and gaslighting I would pass.

Have you worked at Amazon?

Yep 15 years ago and a contract bit more recently. If you have any better options avoid Amazon. Let’s just put it this way...a good friend of mine just got back there from medical leave from a stress-induced illness to discover that the entire rest of the team was about to go on medical leave for stress-induced illnesses. If you think that’s horrible...nah that shit is just pretty normal at the Zon.

Based on what you shared, that does not sound ideal

Would you pass then?

Wow the manager did you a solid with that warning. There are good and bad teams in Amazon, just like all companies. Yours though... Is probably one of the bad ones. Join at your own risk

That sounds like a terrible team to work with, I would only join if your current team is even worse

I don’t currently work at amazon. I’d be moving from SF to Seattle for the job

If you're a career salesperson, this sounds like a cake walk. Get on the bull and ride!

Really? The time off is crap, 401k takes 3 years to vest... I’ll have no freedom and be stuck in an office

Fair enough. That does seem like a shit offer tho, especially a company of this size. My onsite is next month, how are negotiations going?
