Netflix Product Design
What should I prepare for other than the usuals? What ways can I stand out during the interview? Netflix designers, how did you get the job thru what seems like crazy competition? Thanks in advance.
A friend of mine got rejected by them simply because he didn’t seem excited enough about the product. He didn’t ask insightful questions about the Netflix business model to show capability of high level thinking and how design can influence that. Since NFLX design team is lean, they care that everyone is extremely passionate. Also, study the culture deck.
I think not being excited about the company and/or product is a fair rejection. A designer who designs without being passionate about the product isn't really doing justice to him/herself or the company.
