I'm a Quant Developer/Analyst at my current firm and have worked for Mortgage, Fixed Income and credit products. At this moment I don't see a clear career progression in my team and feel lost talking to my manager. I have been considering switching to Buy-side. I want Quants/SWEs out here workign for Buy-Side firms help me understand interviewing process that happens at these firms. Most Quants Dev/Strategists don't work on distributed system and I don't think System design interview happens to them. Can someone please help me understand the interview process and rounds of interviews. I have a Masters degree in applied Math/Financial math background. P.S: I have worked in this Quant space for the past 6.5 years & I have 5.5 years experience prior to that in UK and in India. Blind Tax : TC - 190K - 12 YOE Thanks in Advance #citadel #hrt #twosigma #akunacaptial #balyasny #brevanhoward #deshaw #Millennium #Schonfeld #Verition #Optiver #Quant #interview
I'm also looking to make a jump to one of these firms someday. Unfortunately, my background is in computer graphics
Used to work in this space, many interview questions were very academic like derive blackscholes etc. Know all the basic models and be able to explain them and how to fit a set of mkt prices etc.
Also if you're interviewing for HFT or market makers the interview is more like goggle SDE than anything finance. So make sure you understand the role you're applying to.
Do you mind if I DM you ?

Real talk: in what way private schools are better than public in nyc?
I thought quant make bank
Yeah at HFT firms not jpmc. Use your brain
Asset pricing quants don't make huge tc anymore like they did in the 90s when moronic buy side was investing in crappy structured derivatives that require quants for pricing and hedging
