Kinda curious what everyone thinks. TC less than 100k
No, but the people who spread disinformation and caused the bank run should he punitively fined.
So Peter Thiel. I'm cool with that.
Fuck Peter Thiel. He pulled his own money out first, then yelled fire in the theater
Ofc not. That's the risk of being a shareholder
No one should be getting bailed out. The government always bails out institutions and protects them from the interest rate hikes that they impose on everyone including you and me. They want inflation to go down by people loosing jobs and not spending money so that corpos will reluctantly lower prices in our “free market”. What they don’t want is for any industries which uphold American interests to fail, so they will always work to make sure those industries are bailed out and survive. It’s too skewed for corporations though. The bail outs will only lead to higher inflation which will lead to people not being able to afford basic necessities, which were teetering on for most of the country (at least younger people). It’s a bandaid on the problem and really only serves to make things worse in the long run. Only way out of this inflation for good is to decimate parts of the economy that don’t provide value, which the gov doesn’t want to do. So basically people are going to starve after a long while since we continue to throw tax brakes and bend policies for corporations. Simply because corps will have too much money and will continue to charge too much money until a sizeable amount of people can’t afford their most basic teir offerings. Who knows when that will be because what we’re seeing when companies don’t make a profit, is that they’re bailed out if deemed “important enough”.
10/10 eat the rich
Sure, help the shareholders, but put bank executives behind bars (or at least ban them from the industry).
Yes. The SV Elite provide so much for society, they have earned it. Those idiot Trumpers would still be on dial up without us. They owe us and always have.
No
They shouldn’t. Otherwise every company that takes risk and loses will want a bailout. Free markets don’t work that way.
Shareholders are not being bailed out, only depositors are but they shouldn’t get bailed out either
Why shouldn't depositors get bailed out???
Depositors absolutely should get bailed out. Depositors are NOT bond holders. Depositors get lower interest than bond holders. Depositors are just parking their money. If a country's banking system doesn't have a place for parking money, that country might as well be done.
