Nonprofit to profit org switch for over H1B.

Hey guys, I'm currently on a cap-exempt H1B approved 2 years ago for 3 years, working for a nonprofit org. I've little to no knowledge of how people actually move from a nonprofit org to a profit org while they are on a cap-exempt h1b status. Couple of questions: 1. Does profitable companies like FANG wait for you from April to November period to apply and getting approved process? My take on this is there alot of talent outside, it's that I've not have confidence on my skillsets, it's more on the employer side that of they need someone to be hired quickly, they won't be waiting for such long(8 to 9 months ) period, instead they will hire someone? But I could be wrong too! 2. Does anyone explain the switching process? 3. Is it straightforward? 4. Is it better to get the GC i.e I140 filed and possess it before starting the interview process for switching to profitable organisation? I've seen alot of post on blind related to this topic but didn't get clear answers for some of my questions. Any suggestions would be helpful. If you find a weblink, please drop here. #h1b #perm

Maybe add Cable Labs in the tagged companies list. They do the non profit h1b stuff. Someone from there should be able to answer.

All national labs too are non-profit. Oak ridge national lab, Berkeley National Lab, and Brookhaven National lab
