What role did you get an offer for? What is the TC breakdown (base bonus stock)
Director 300k base, 150k bonus with 50k stock.
I know a guy who had been Director at bofa (and a pretty senior one at that) -> took VP job at Amex. So, wondering if VP is broadly more senior at the issuers than at the banks...
That’s what I’m trying to figure out too. I’m not familiar with IB.
So, OP: are you a VP at visa?
Yes
Director at Citi is definitely a senior role. Comparable to VP at Amex/Visa.
OP: Director at Citi is a very Senior Role. In Investment Banking terms, it is a Senior Director level. Citi has two titles (Director & SVP) which is equivalent to Executive Director at (JP & MS) and Director in (DB, UBS, Barclays) . You are in the upper band of a Director level position within an Investment Bank with what you have being offered. I hope this gives you some re-assurance , I think you got them good. Average YOE for this role is 13 - 15 years.
Thank you for this breakdown
Director at banks/finance is very broad. It's ranges from 7-8 yoe to 15 yoe and accordingly the TC can be from 250k - 400k

What? Of course directors are senior roles in any organization. What respectable companies have college grads coming in as directors 😂
Directors at Visa are not senior. There’s quite a bit of title inflation. Just want to know if it’s similar at Citi
Directors at Citi are senior . Remember by global footprint it is the biggest bank in the world . Very geopolitically impacted so you need hard ass weather beaten managers because they are worked to the bone
