Amazon PM role v/s TPM
Pros and cons of each role some can make a decision what I want to apply for
Just don't do it, don't even bother making a list. Stay far far far away.
TPMs are mostly just the barrier between SDEs and PMs in my experience. Either way I have little to no respect for either role
Why don’t you have any respect of these roles?
Don’t bother with Amazon when startups are literally paying 300K+ these days
Pms own the products, TPMs own a spreadsheet where each cell is owned by an SDE
This^ Also, if the cell has the wrong status or color coding the TPMs ass is on the line.
Plenty of PMs at Amazon who don't know shit about their own product and their own customer. Know your product and know your customer, it's crazy how PMs fail at these two basic requirements and rather over index on reporting project status. To be fair, it's the orgs fault for mis-using the PM skill set
Don’t consider amazon. It’s a piece of trash company that breeds toxic peons.
