A house I saw that was valued at 900K about 6 months ago is worth 800K now. But in the price history never actually shows the previous 900K price. It is like the whole trendline shifted downwards. Anyone else see this?
Redfin shows the price history for some houses and for some its disappeared. Maybe a bug on their end?
Agreed OP, I thought it's a bug... 🐛🪲 But seems like redfin intentionally does it.. Not sure if this is fair and legal..as they are misguiding the market🤷♂️
Yes. I reported this to Redfin two years ago. They said they will investigate. Now it’s still like that. So it did mean that’s their intention.
Not redfin. Its MLS removes on owner request.
Nope, the estimate belongs to Redfin, they can show it whenever and however they want.
It’s Redfin driven. They want to create illusion that market always goes up. It’s in their favor to spread that viewpoint.
It is deliberate for sure, can only be for their benefit. Zillow shows it as is, but only for active homes.
housing only goes up
Redfin makes the graphs always in upward trend and I have noticed that a million times. It’s definitely intentional and misleading. See Zillow instead
Indeed, it’s evil and to give the false sense that housing only goes up.
Folks in product and design fought to have it make sense and work as you would expect (graph shows prices as they were reported at that time) when the feature was initially released, but we were overridden by leadership.
I have noticed this before. So search the same house on Zillow and you will know the past value .
Redfin is showing both actual sold price and its estimate at that time, which most likely will be lower due to the graph adjustments. Anyone reading that will feel terrible believing they "overpaid" 😂
I have noticed the same, very shady practice indeed

Redfin graph never goes down, they readjust whole curve to give illusion that market always go up
Oh that is sneaky
Yes this is what I noticed too. Shady practice! Just observe your home (or any home) overtime and notice how redfin adjust the curve. Historical redfin estimates are not constants!
