Why do you not see this as a good opportunity: you can be the hero to save the day. Instead we whine about wanting top TCs at the most prestigious of places, full of smart asses who have already built shiny things.

I think OCI’s philosophy is inherently good. There’s a niche they can carve out of cloud that could get them into the cloud game and allow them to succeed. All the bashing from non OCI folks who haven’t even gone onsite yet is pretty odd on Blind. Are you all just jealous that OCI is paying better than your current role and you can’t crack their teams?
Basically yes, there are 2000 people in OCI and 22000 elsewhere in Oracle Cloud who are resentful. Lots of RIF ongoing leading to increased hatred.
Dude, they have two clouds. OCI and OCI-Classic. All their SaaS apps like HCM run on yet another cloud. And they have like 7 DCs. Cannot complete with Azure or AWS might.
They pay well but it’s a shit show. The leadership is terrible and it’s starting to hurt everyone.
Yes the UI is terrible, but Larry, Don, and Clay are all very much behind a re-design. I can’t publicly share what we’ve done, but we are absolutely working to improve it, radically.

I TOLD you guys to PICK one tech stack, cut the bullshit where every team can choose to build their shit with whatever tech they wanted and then iframe that shit into the main app. Hello, 1996 is calling, it wants its lack of architecture back? But no, you wouldn’t listen... this is why I quit Oracle, nobody cares about UI and they don’t get it.
