Pokemon Go, getting 1, 2, or 3 cells when walking a route. The placeholder {0} isn't even replaced correctly. The engineer may express: we are just releasing this to millions of users. WTF. Who cares. I memorized some LeetCode to get into the company and now I can look down on the contractors. Who really cares. It is what it is. Now let me smoke some legal grass. Hey Pete, you want to play some Halo after this so that we can kill, kill, and kill?
No one cares
Game developers are generally worse programmers because bugs in games aren't considered as serious as bugs in other programs. Even those people that sell courses in game dev demonstrate terrible logic in their videos regularly.
ok, I suppose you can say Animal Crossing is an exception. It is so immaculate and there is so much details such as if there is a fan nearby, the candle light will flicker a little. There are some loopholes, but it has a really low percentage of issues, unlike Niantic's "oh there is a 10am event and millions of users are waiting but our engineers forgot to turn it on or set the timer to turn it on."
Every frame of game usually needs to run within 16ms and I wonder what's your experience about real-time system? The fact that you use "generally" implied you were commenting without understanding other people's problem space(ignorant). Or do you want to use it as a safe guard and be like "I didn't say all game devs are worse"? Then The following "because" is a comment without solid proof - How Do you know they're not serious about bugs? Do you actually know anyone working in the industry? Just like all engineering, tickets have priorities and games are one of the hardest systems to test against. After all, if you learn about game dev from people who sell courses online.. Lol maybe look at every year's GDC or siggraph talks first.
God damn i can smell your nerd sweat through this post
it is not only that. It is also like the MacBook Air clock alarm is going off and you are in the hallway, so you say, "Hey Siri, turn off the alarm" and IT WOULD NOT WORK whatsoever. That's BRILLIANT.
How are we supposed to read this?
basically it says There are {0} cells that have come into the collection bag.
