https://www.occ.gov/news-issuances/news-releases/2021/nr-occ-2021-2.html Sounds like bullish news for Ethereum! What do you think? #crypto #ethereum #bitcoin #blockchain #tech
It’s instant instead of swift taking 1-2 days and Ach taking forever
Watershed moment for crypto
This is bullish for Stellar. If you’ve ever transferred Stellar Lumens, then you know how fast it is, whereas Ethereum can take upwards of an hour when congested. Soon enough the majority of USDC transactions will be going through on Stellar https://www.stellar.org/press-releases/centre-consortium-announces-stellar-as-an-official-chain-for-usdc?locale=en
While it’s good for Stellar’s adoption, it’s unlikely that the value would accrue to the XLM token. You’re better off holding BTC over the long run. BTC has already won, and monetary networks have winner-take-all dynamics. BTC’s returns will likely outperform all the others, save maybe Ethereum if Zk-roll ups or Eth 2.0 is successful.
This allows them to interface with blockchains. It doesn't necessarily mean they'll want to go and replace their existing systems (though they could if they wanted to). In the immediate term, think more along the lines of banks being able to host crypto wallets. Of course I would never trust a bank with my crypto, but it's undoubtedly good for adoption. It's a bit of a blow to Ripple (lol), which was trying to be the regulation-friendly blockchain for banks, since all blockchains are regulation-friendly now. Edit: it probably also means that exchanges won't need to act as fiat on-ramps anymore. You'll be able to transfer funds directly to/from from your bank as USDC, which should allow the exchange to avoid some regulatory hurdles.
