Today, I noticed someone that I know with 2-3 years of experience as L6 SDM at Amazon joining Oracle as Senior Director. I'm curious if that is the right title mapping?
That’s not possible. L7 and above maps to senior director.
That’s a big jump if it’s true ! It’s not right mapping lol. No way Amazon L6 maps to Director at Oracle.
Don't be so obsessed with titles. They don't dictate your abilities.
What a useless comment.. what’s op asking and what are you responding with your pearls of wisdom.
L6 SDMs have groups ranging from 1-2 to 20-30! A standard L6 SDM maps to Director at Oracle. Many make this move. Senior Director is a rung up, hence it’s a good move. However if it’s one of the SDMs to whom other SDMs report, a Senior Director role is not that infeasible
As per OP the person has only 2-3 yoe as SDM so the probability of many sdm's reporting to him is less and hence M5 is not feasible. Even an internal move from M4 to M5 takes significant time.
From SageMaker org correct?
L6 generally maps to Oracle M2 or M3 if you’re very strong. Senior Director is M5.
