I am currently working as an SDE 2 in India with 2 YOE. I am earning good to my experience but my mindset of earning more money pushed me to apply for MS in US and I applied for the same. I wanted the destiny to decide my luck and thus I only applied to big universities. I applied to Purdue WL and as a 2nd choice I selected FW campus. Unfortunately I got rejected in WL campus and got selected for FW campus. Currently I think it is a good time to go to study considering the recession as it be gone after 2 years of my MS completion where I will get good opportunities. My only concern is whether it will be good decision to leave a well paid job in India and go for 2 years of Masters in US. Will it be a good ROI or I should stay in India and try to go to US through job if needed? My ultimate aim is to earn more money and have a good lifestyle as early in my life as possible. Also is Purdue FW a good univ to go for MS CS? YOE : 2 TC : 25L (19.5 base) #engineering #software
@OP what was your profile like? GPA/GRE/Toelf/Research papers?
No research papers . GRE is waived and my IELTS score is 7.0 and I had 2 years of work experience. I switched job after a year and got into SDE-2 role and worked in it for an year. Don’t know whether these things were taken into account but these were the things highlighted in my profile. Also I saw some seniors and my batch mates also having some work experience. So I think they value work experience.
Nice, thanks. And what was your undergrad GPA?
Let me know if you need suggestions with housing
